For those living in Zagreb (or visiting it in next months), here’s a new series of short trail races on Medvednica mountain. Sljeme Trail Kružok is a series of four races (for this year), all four races will have a similar format (length, climbs), but each race will have its own course and course author. The details about the whole series are not known (and they won’t be until the time is right :)) but we have info about the first race:

On 16 June 2013, Ponikve Trail will start near mountain hut Glavica on west side of Medvednica. The length will be 10km and it will have 450m elevation gain (and lose). The course will be fully marked so you don’t have to know anything about maps and compass 🙂 The entry fee will be 4€ if you register on time, and registration will be done via RaceBase. The sposnor of the whole series is Sport LAB store and they will sponsor each race with one of the brands they represent. For the first race there will be a lottery for Vibram Five Fingers, and for the next races: Inov-8, Mico, etc.

The dates for whole series are:

• 16 June
• 07 July
• 24 August
• 08 October

There are no more information about following races but they will be between 7 and 10 km and not more than 500m climbs.
