This weekend starts VerticAlba series. It’s a series of short, but steep mountain races that are organized during summer in Istria. The first round is VerticAlba Žbevnica.

If you have run 100k or 100 miles on 100 Miles of Istria this year, maybe you remember the descent before Buzet (where the transition point was). It’s that part, but in the opposite direction.

However, if you have not been on Žbevnica, know that it’s a tough trail but you’ll forget the pain once you climb on top. There’s a magnificent view on whole Istria and more. The area around the peak is in the open with plenty of grass to lay down and enjoy your accomplishment. 🙂

After the race, there’ll be a prize giving ceremony back in Sveti Martin where you will start.
