Dalmatia is a region on south-east part of Adriatic coast. Although mainly coastal region, you will find beautiful mountains here, just touching the sea. The biggest, Biokovo tops 1762m above sea level, and its smaller neighbor Mosor tops at 1339m. Hiking to any of these will provide you spectacular views and offer stunning trails.
Dalmatian islands are really popular tourist but also running destination. With tallest peaks going up to 778m on island Brač, you’ll find plenty of climbs if you are looking for them.
One of the biggest tourist destinations, Dubrovnik is situated at the southern part of Dalmatia, and you can of course visit three of national parks in this region: National Park Krka, National Park Kornati and National Park Mljet.
Trails in this region are really diverse. From nice flat trails that go around bays and along coastline to harsh karst terrain high in the mountains. Make sure you know where you are heading and what the route is like.
